Main purpose of job:
To carry out the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems to a high standard of quality and safety. The Roofer plays a key role in delivering projects efficiently, ensuring all roofing work meets company standards, client expectations, and health & safety requirements.

Key accountabilities:
• Install, repair, and maintain roofs using materials such as shingles, tiles, and metal
• Fabricate roofing components as required for specific projects
• Build and dismantle structures such as scaffolding to support roofing work
• Carry out welding and plumbing tasks where required
• Interpret schematics, drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate installation
• Inspect roofs to identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions
• Perform manual handling duties, including heavy lifting and movement of materials
• Work collaboratively with other trades (e.g. carpenters and masons) to complete projects efficiently
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times

Personal specification
Skills & experience:
• Proven experience as a Roofer or in a similar role
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to roofing
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and installation techniques
• Good understanding of health & safety practices within construction
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
