Main purpose of job:

To carry out a range of construction, maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades, supporting the delivery of projects to a high standard. The Multi Trade Operative ensures work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with company quality and compliance standards.

Key accountabilities:

  • Carry out a variety of maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, plastering and general building works.
  • Diagnose faults and determine appropriate repair solutions 
  • Complete both planned and reactive works in domestic and/or commercial settings 
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in line with project specifications 
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively 
  • Maintain clean and organised work areas at all times 
  • Liaise with team members, supervisors, and clients where required 
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures 
  • Support other trades and team members to meet project deadlines

 

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

 

Essential criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience in a multi-trade, general maintenance, repairs or construction role.
  • Competence in at least two core trade areas, such as carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, painting and decorating, or general building works.
  • Ability to diagnose repair requirements and complete work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety requirements within construction, maintenance or property repair environments.
  • Confident use of hand tools, power tools and relevant equipment in line with safe working practices.
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with supervisors, colleagues, clients and residents where required.
  • Willingness to travel between sites and work flexibly to support operational requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence, where driving forms part of the role.
